YOGA NIDRA WITH KANAN YOGA BLISS

Kanan Thakerar - Director of Kanan Yoga Bliss Kanan knows the importance of inner bliss first hand and is now on a mission to help others unlock, ignite, and sustain theirs.

It was 2013, Kanan had built a high-flying career navigating the skies for one of the world’s leading airlines. As a side line, she ran her own training business. She had a full and fabulous social life and felt unstoppable. But then her body stopped. Unannounced, her immune system started to close down and she lost her ability to function at all. To recover, she was forced to pause and take self-care seriously. She was diagnosed with Aero-Toxic Syndrome and her prognosis was poor. She was receiving treatment in New York when she discovered Yoga Nidra.

Inspired by the real and powerful transformation Yoga Nidra was making to her wellbeing, Kanan decided to study and train in this practice so that she could share it with others. Since then she has had the privilege to practice all over the world and share her Yoga Nidra with a diverse range of Clients - from CEO’s to private members clubs, festivals to corporate events, retail stores to radio stations.

Yoga Nidra involves lying down and embarking on a highly creative and powerful visual journey, whilst allowing your body to enter a deeply restorative slumber.

In Kanan’s sessions of Yoga Nidra you will experience the following:

Centring and becoming still.

Setting an intention, which will become deeply embedded in your conscious, subconscious, and unconscious mind.

Releasing tension from each part of the body.

Breath awareness.

Manifestation of Opposites - connecting the two sides of the brain (creative and logical) through visualisation techniques.

Revisiting their intention and embedding it deep within the subconscious mind.

The Benefits of the Yoga Nidra:

1 hour of Yoga Nidra is the equivalent to 4 hours of deep restorative sleep.

Improves emotional self-regulation - reducing levels of depression, stress, and anxiety.

Activates the parasympathetic nervous system.

Allowing the body to naturally re-set, restore, and revive. The practice cultivates a deeper connection between mind and body - stimulating a soothing state of conscious relaxation.

It is truly inclusive! Anybody can do it as it has no physical activity involved.

Taking a ‘Constructive Pause’ will also allow people to totally relax and rest, releasing any stress that they are experiencing - leading to more creativity and transformation.

KANAN’S VERVE SESSIONS:

IMMERSE IN THE WILD - Come and experience a wonderful session of Yoga Nidra - held in the wilderness of the festival. Allow yourself to fully relax and let go as you are held safe and secure by the earth, and open to the sky above. A wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the beautiful surroundings and tranquility of wild nature. As you allow yourself to release what no longer serves you, you will connect deeply to your heart-space and ignite your inner bliss.

THE CIRCLE - The Circle is a new initiative from Kanan Yoga Bliss that creates a space for you to connect with your own inner being, and with those sharing the Nidra journey beside you. As you are guided through your Nidra practice, you will be able to release and let go, giving yourself a moment of deep rest and rebalance to raise your energy. To foster connection and community within The Circle, you will be invited to share two things at the end of the Nidra practice; one thing that you wish to receive in your life, and one thing you wish to offer others. When we acknowledge the individual contributions we can make to others, and communicate the things we need for ourselves, we honour the power of community in transformation and manifest our highest selves.
